Civic Engagement
We are dedicated to ensuring residents have an informed, active voice in the decisions affecting their community.
• Increase residents’ capacity to effect neighborhood change at the policy level
• Increase residents’ civic engagement
• Increase voting participation in the neighborhood
We want to ensure that we are using all existing civic tools and assets available to us in making our voices heard, while advocating for policies that will strengthen resident voice and power. We are continuing to provide leadership and advocacy training to residents, with a particular focus on housing, social and environmental justice issues.
To increase understanding of the political process, we are incorporating civic education into our regular programming, including the development and support of a civic engagement table.
As we’ve engaged residents and encouraged them to register to vote, we’ve learned more about why some are not registering, and why some who are registered, do not always vote. To encourage increased participation, we will continue to identify and register those are not currently registered to vote. If you would like to register, please download this form.
