Intergenerational Wealth & Opportunity
We open doors of opportunity for residents through transformational educational, employment, wealth-building and entrepreneurial experiences.
• Decrease displacement in the neighborhood
• Increase access to opportunities for residents to build personal and community wealth
• Provide youth with wealth-building opportunities
While renting is the most practical choice for many residents, we believe homeownership is an important strategy to both stabilize our neighborhood and build wealth for residents. We are creating a plan to purchase properties from the city and work with partners to rehabilitate these homes to create affordable, healthy living spaces for residents.
Developing the education and skills of our community members is key to supporting increased employment and innovation. We must focus on developing the leaders of the future in order to accomplish our mission as the leaders of today. To support this, we aim to identify partners who can co-create financial education and employment programs.
What we have heard from residents is that they badly want to gain economic self-sufficiency, as well as find work from which they derive meaning and hope. Through this focus area, we aim to expose youth to career pathways and activities that prepare them to build assets, including green jobs, coding, SAT prep, and entrepreneurship and financial education.
